Open the Book training day

OPEN THE BOOKOpen the Book, a national charity which involves church groups visiting local primary schools in order to teach Bible stories, is going to be running a training session at the Kings Centre, home of Kingsgate Community Church
Queen Annes Road
Southtown
Great Yarmouth
NR31 0LE

28th February 2015

9.30am until 3pm

The idea of Open the Book is that people from local churches get together to build teams that then take assemblies at local schools. It still remains a requirement under the national curriculum that all maintained schools must provide religious education, and by engaging with local schools in this way, churches can help to support the work of teachers by adding resources to the schools in the form of these Open the Book teams

The groups dress up, use puppets, mime and act with a script, providing a story and explaining the narrative of the Bible

Every week across the UK, 250,000 children engage with the Bible through Open the Book, if you want to join in and get trained, please contact the Norwich Anglican Diocese or call 01502 731066

Cost for training is £6 per person or £10 for two

Tea and coffee will be provided, but participants need to bring their own lunch
