Star Wars as well as Star of Wonder

It was a case of Star Wars as well as Star of Wonder when St Andrew’s Church staged its Nativity carol service on Sunday morning
 
As well as the carols, the Darth Vader theme rang out from the organ when King Herod appeared

There were 17 church members taking part to act out the Christmas story including one dressed as a donkey and another a sheep. The projector screen was used to provide background scenery.  The drama was organised by Jean Murray, Anne Humphrey, and Authorised Worship Leader Stephanie Gostick who also led the serviceNativity 12-2017 E

At the service, attended by around 120 people, the Vicar of Gorleston, the Rev Brian Hall presented gifts to YMCA workers to be distributed to young residents of the YMCA lodging support. This is the fifth year the church has supported the organisation in this way and the Rev Hall blessed the gifts

St Andrew’s is gearing up for its busiest services on Christmas Eve with the popular Community Carols at 10.30pm followed by Midnight Communion at 11.30pm
