Heavenly Father, I stood at the side of the road yesterday, wanting to cross, but saw someone approaching on a bicycle. I could have nipped over quite easily but decided to wait and smile as the person went by. As they went past I looked and smiled but there was not a flicker of recognition, it was as though I did not even exist, like I wasn't even there
At that moment I thought I heard You say to me, "That happens to me all the time".  With my mind focused, my eyes set on the road ahead, my problems running through my head over and over I don't see You there, standing, waiting to meet me, waiting to greet me, ready to smile at me, ready to bless me
Moses told Aaron to bless the people "The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face shine upon you and give you peace, and give you peace forever"
Father, forgive me for the times I ignore You, don't see You in my life, don't recognise You, don't turn my face towards You.  Because of Your great love, You wait at the side of the road, waiting to bless me and give me Your peace. Sometimes I rush by, heading to my next planned objective, no time to stop and talk, no time to listen, no time to pray, to meet with You
But eventually I hear Your still calm voice.  "Drop Thy still dews of quietness, Till all our strivings cease; Take from our souls the strain and stress, and let our ordered lives confess the beauty of Thy peace, The beauty of Thy peace".  Thank You Father for Your patience, Your great love, for Jesus, Your Spirit, and Your blessing.  Amen
