100th Birthday Celebration at Wednesday Club

GENNA BROWN 100Genna Brown, a founder member of St Mary’s Wednesday Club, attending regularly for the past 34 years, was welcomed as guest of honour to the meeting where members had prepared a surprise lunch and celebration for her special birthday of 100 years. Fr Simon was welcomed as a special guest and began the proceedings with the Grace
The celebration included all sharing a three-course fish and chip lunch, with the fish and chips being prepared at the Lichfield Chippy. This was followed by a dessert and fruit juice to drink
The members of the club presented Genna with a large birthday cake and a beautiful basket of roses, and many greetings cards. With the help of Fr Simon, Genna cut the cake
Fr Simon proposed the toast and offered congratulations to Genna; and all raised a toast to her with a glass of sparkling wine, singing birthday greetings, before enjoying a piece of birthday cake. Genna was a bit over-whelmed by the attention she was receiving but enjoyed the occasion very much
