We are about seeing young people's lives changed by Jesus

Registered Charity Number 1118022

“When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit” (John 19 v 30 AMP)

“He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said He would!” (Matt 28 v 6)
(1 Peter 1 v 3 NIV)

This month we’re overjoyed and excited to welcome three new team members to East Norfolk Youth for Christ
STUART HANKS
Stuart Hanks has joined the board as a trustee with plenty of experience in many different leadership roles and with a passion for the young people of Great Yarmouth to hear about this wonderful Saviour, Jesus Christ, who changes lives for eternity
As a member of Cliff Park Community Church, Stuart has been a significant influence in the youth scene in Gorleston and is looking forward to bringing his experience and vision to the work of East Norfolk Youth for Christ

AMILCAR FORMOSOThe youth work side of the organisation received a massive boost this month too in the form of Amilcar Formoso. After nine years of faithful prayer support and occasional volunteering, Amilcar joins Ali as youth worker. Having first made contact with East Norfolk Youth for Christ in 2010 Amilcar has become a “sounding board” for Ali as well as a fellow prayer walker and general support and encouragement to her. He is a member of Park Baptist Church and as soon as his DBS is received, he will be working two days every week, going into the school with Ali and helping at the weekly groups to bring a different dimension to the work, reaching more young people with the fantastic Good News of Jesus

DEBBIE BIRTCHNELL

God has also provided another volunteer, the lovely Debbie Birtchnell, a member of Holy Trinity Church, who is passionate about the young people hearing the gospel. The timing is perfect, as usual when God’s involved because Livvy is now no longer able to give us a weekly commitment, due to her paid work so we miss her but are really grateful for all the hours she has given over the years and for the input she’s had into the young people. Praise God for Debbie’s obedience to His call

Please pray for these wonderful new additions to the different teams, that they will be courageous, empowered, and fruitful in their roles with us

Isn’t the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ just the best Good News you’ve ever heard? And the knowledge that God trusts and empowers us with the responsibility and privilege of telling people of every age, that brilliant news is mind-blowing and yet He does

So we continue to thank God for His favour in the school, where we build relationships and invite the young people to the Youth Café on Thursdays. It’s been a settled time in the school for us and we’re grateful for the opportunities to get alongside the pupils and adults in different ways

ENYFC 04-2019A

ETP
will finish at Easter.  Since Lorraine left, Claire Timothy has increased her commitment to the group but with her pregnancy advancing, she will be unable to continue after Easter. We haven’t been able to engage another female volunteer so the group will not be able to continue. Although this seems a great shame, the leaders have a peace about it as the young people are now at an age where they can engage with the other groups East Norfolk Youth for Christ provides. We’re so grateful that God has shown us already what a beneficial 18 months it’s been in giving these three young people a safe place to talk about their life journeys and a safe place to ask their questions about God, culminating in giving them journals and Bibles

ENYFC 04-2019B

THEOS and WEC+
continue to be available for the young people to ask their questions about Jesus and His love for the world and for their families and friends who don’t know Him. We’ve been getting to grips with who Jesus is and comleted a spidergram of His attributes and character

Youth Café: This continues to be a challenge as well as a joy. The Year 7s and 8s are gradually hearing about the café and we trust that when Amilcar starts visiting the school he will be able to engage with the younger years in their dinner hall. If you would like to come and see what happens here, feel free to get in touch; we can arrange for you to come and observe so you get a clearer idea of what goes on

Please continue to uphold the trustees at this time of change. As we continue to investigate partnering and working with churches and other Christian organisations please pray for wisdom and clarity as we move forward
How valuable this group is

We would love to grow the team by employing new staff but we will need to increase our income in order to do that. Are you able to contribute a one-off gift or a regular payment to support the work in Great Yarmouth please?

If you feel God is prompting you, please get in touch or use the following details to donate. Our bank details are HSBC, 81452886, 40-22-34. We are registered with Stewardship (East Norfolk Youth for Christ) if you’d like to give anonymously or if you prefer to use cheques, please make them payable to East Norfolk Youth for Christ and post them to the office address at the bottom of this update. Thank you so much to those who consistently support us in this way. We are truly grateful for your generosity

ENYFC 04-2019CSpring Weekend: Yes, it’s nearly that time of year again – where we take young people from Gt Yarmouth to the Eaton Vale activity Centre near Norwich for a weekend of fun, talks, prayer and relationship building. This event is something the volunteers AND young people really look forward to and we all have lasting memories of the fun we have here.  As you can see from the picture we are partnering with North Breckland Youth for Christ and The Sense and Stance will be providing the teaching in their unique and inspired ways. We subsidise the young people by £53 per person as they can’t afford to pay the full fees. If you feel you could sponsor a child to go please get in touch in any of the ways in the previous paragraph. Thank you

If you’re not sure what we do and would like us to visit your church (a service or PCC meeting or something else) to update you in person about the work of East Norfolk Youth for Christ, please get in touch, we’d love to come and meet you
