A letter from Love
Regular Network Norfolk columnist Philip Young shares with us his own personal perspective on love
Imagine if Love was writing a letter to you. What would love say? I have written 16 Love poems and I would like to share two of them with you:
Love speaks
Hello you.
This is Love speaking.
You were conceived by me in love.
I was at your beginning and I will be at your end.
I was with you before your earthly beginning and I shall be with you when you depart.
You may know me by another name for Love is God and God is Love
Or you may know me without knowing my name.
I have existed for all time and I exist beyond and outside of time, which people call eternity
I created you with love and now you are being called by me.
I am calling you so that you can return to your true nature, which is Love.
Come to me and all shall be well
Come to me and I shall make you whole.
If you have read my columns here before you may know that I have been a keen supporter of the Norwich Pride March for several years and so the second poem I wish to share with you is to show love, respect, and support to all those in the LGTB (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans) community and to celebrate love between two people whatever their gender may be. Therefore, take note, it is also written in support of heterosexual love
Love between two people
Whenever two people love one another I am there too.
My love is like a third presence.
A threefold cord is not easily broken.
The gender of the lovers matters not.
The love between a man and a woman is beautiful.
The love between a man and another man is beautiful too.
So too the love between a woman and another woman is beautiful.
Rejoice that such love may express itself in caring physical intimacy,
Above all be mindful of the beauty which resides in your hearts.
If love is in your hearts, then love triumphs.
And love is always beautiful.
There are fourteen more poems I have written in a similar way and I am hoping to have them published. (All help and advice gratefully received). God is love and I believe that his love is for all people. Jesus was love made flesh and as human beings we are challenged to bring love to all the corners of the earth
Will you help to bring love alive in today’s world?
