National Grant Award means Free Singing Club for Great Yarmouth Teens!

14th November 2017

Thanks to a generous grant award from national arts funding body Youth Music, a new singing club has started up in the heart of Great Yarmouth, offering free singing sessions for 11-18 year olds on Wednesday evenings. Youth Voices is a fun social singing group set to offer teenagers in Yarmouth the chance to improve their vocals and music skills, grow in confidence and make friends

YOUTH VOICES

Led by experienced singing teacher and recording artist Sam Coe of Norwich’s The Wharf Academy, the FREE club runs in 2 sessions on Wednesdays through term time: Junior Youth Voices (11-15 years) which meets in the front entrance of St Nicholas’ Priory School building (opposite the marketplace) at 4.30pm and runs for an hour (finishing with a snack break) then Youth Voices (15-18 years) starting at 5.30pm, which also uses the Priory’s School Hall, entering from St Nicholas Road (round the side of the school) and finishes at 6.30pm

The grant, which was obtained as part of Great Yarmouth Minster’s community music project and is also supported by St Nicholas Priory School, initially runs for two years, and also supports morning singing activities for younger children
Sam Coe also leads several other choirs in the area including a local adult choir and schools music sessions
