Members of the Pakefield Church congregation will join locals, friends, and families on a walk around the streets of Pakefield in Lowestoft on December 24 to encounter different parts of the nativity story along the way. Organiser Katey Mills - the children, and youth worker at Pakefield Church - was originally inspired to create the inaugural Nativity Walk in 2021. It proved to be more successful than expected as more than 150 people took part, and since then families have flocked to see the true meaning of Christmas on display. Katey told the Lowestoft Journal: "It will be our fifth annual walk and there will be 14 points to visit along the way, and at each the Christmas message will evolve. Each station will feature members of Pakefield church, local people, friends of the church and businesses." The route is set to start on Cliftonville Road at 3pm, where people can sign in at the Emperor Census station before they pass along Pakefield Cliff, past the Oddfellows pub, along Florence Road, Pakefield Street and The Causeway before ending at the church for carols around the tree. Mrs Mills said: "I work with the children, youth and families and this is a massive opportunity to reach out to the wider community and tell the real Christmas story. From there, families will be led to join others at Pakefield Church for their annual Christmas Eve carol service. Article extracts from The Lowestoft Journal.
