When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when though walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour; I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. Isaiah 43: 2,3

Iviewpoints cross logo jpegt happened during February 2008. The pain started on my right scapula and I thought it was just a muscular sprain and so I did not feel concerned.   My experience as a nurse told me that it was probably just a muscular sprain and would be better in about a month or so. The Physiotherapist gave me some exercises which helped at first and I felt a little bit better. The pain came back much worse than before so I went to see the doctorviewpoin web. The diagnosis was the same as my own and he advised me to take some pain killers.

I saw a different doctor the next time and his diagnosis was the same as the previous. The pain was getting worse instead of better so he decided to send me for a chest X-ray. At this point I had no other symptoms just pain. However, this changed and I gradually started to lose weight and couldn’t eat anything because of a bitter taste in my mouth.

After a week I saw my GP, he told me that the x-ray showed a secondary growth and they could not see my 5th rib fully on the x-ray.   I was shocked to hear the news and I thanked God for now at least I had a better idea of what was going on. I completely surrendered and put the whole matter into His hands because He knows what is best for me.

My wife is also a nurse but I didn’t tell her anything until I had further tests and had a final diagnosis.  I did, however, talk to my work colleagues and to the Pastor at the church I attend.

The whole church prayed for me and I placed myself into God’s healing hands. After seeing the consultant he advised me to have a CT scan and as a result they found a lesion. The doctor decided to do an Ultra sound guided biopsy. The final diagnosis was tuberculosDove rightis.

I thanked God for the good news because I knew that it was curable and that the treatment would be only for six months. However, I was concern that I might have to be isolated and would not be able to work. My other concern was for the family that I shared a house with as they had a baby aged 6-8 months.  Once again I took the matter to the Lord and asked for his help.

God answered my prayer. You all might wonder how this could happen. It’s a miracle and I was told by the doctor I can go to work as usual without any restriction. I was surprised and asked him how this could be possible. He told me that only my bone was infected with the disease and it was not contagious. I would have to see the doctor every month to clear out the pus until it would be clear.

I am thankful to God for answering my prayers and for the comfort, strength, guidance and blessings that he gave me. I am also thankful for the love and support from the church family.
