Getting the Job Done

Have you ever been in a situation where you seem to fail all the time? You are given an assignment or a project to do, you work on it but you never get it riPASTOR RIO WEBght or never get it done at all. Despite the assistance you received from, the work still doesn’t get done. If you are, then you are not alone.

Why do people fail at their work? It’s not because they are stupid and not because they are not given the opportunity but simply because they begin things, but leave them hanging. Although they may have started off great, yet are not able to finish. This habit of leaving work undone has an adverse effect not only to one’s personality but also to the people they are working with.

People tend to find solutions to this kind of dilemma through self-help books. But I am not very sure if these books can really givDove righte the solution to the problem. It seems that they only make life more miserable. They may tell us to think positively, but they will never work unless there is something that needs to change in us. No matter how much we know, if we fail to put them into practice, then we only have the theory. Even positive thinking alone, won’t help much. For instance, I force myself to think as positively that I know how to use the computer.

No matter how positive I am, I won’t be able to learn how to use it, unless I started pressing the buttons. When knowledge is put into practice, it is considered wisdom.  Isn’t it the same with our faith? Faith that the Bible speaks about is not an intellectual assent but a living faith. Faith that naturally produces good fruits. James 2:14-26 emphasizes that faith and works are inseparable, they are neither different nor contradicting from each other. When we walk in Christ, we meditate on His word. We learn the lessons and put the lessons into actual application to practical living. And the one benefit we have is that the Source of power, the Creator of the heavens and the earth is the same God who will be faithful to complete what He has started in us. Christ alone, is the Author and Perfector of our faith.
