So many people in this world, and especially in our western culture, do not know who they are, and their lives seem to reflect that struggle to find meaning and purpose to their existence

There is an old story of a Rabbi, named Akiva, who walked 7 miles into a village to gather supplies. On his way home he was deep in thought, pondering his life's purpose, when he turned onto the wrong path, landing him in front of a Roman gate

A voice boomed down, jolting the Rabbi from his deep thoughts “WHO ARE YOU and WHY ARE YOU HERE?”

Akiva, being a good Rabbi, answered the question with another question.  “How much do you get paid to stand there and ask that?” The guard replied “Five drachmas a week”. To which Akiva offered “I would like to pay you twice the amount to come and stand outside my home and ask me these questions each day as I leave”: “WHO ARE YOU and WHY ARE YOU HERE?”

Have you ever stopped to think about the fact that you are part of an eternal plan?

Your existence didn’t begin at conception

You began in the mind of God before the foundation of this earth. If you reflect on this, few things will make you feel smaller … or bigger

Dove rightFar from being an accident, you and I are part of a brilliant plan that started before planet Earth and continues beyond it

God chose us before the foundation of the world.  He knew us before He made us:

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;” (Jeremiah1:5), and He drew up works for us before we were even created

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” Ephesians 2:10 (ANIV)

He has plans for us and His Church and we are included in those plans

That thought should bring tremendous peace to our often-stressed souls

God knows me and has a plan for me.  The more I think about it, the more honoured I feel to be chosen as a part of God’s eternal plan for this world

You were created by God the creator and you are here because He has given you a purpose in Life
