For many Easter time is more than just a relief that warmer weather is coming and the clocks go forward and the schools are on holiday
As believers, our family engages with Easter Celebrations in church and remind ourselves of the Father's love for his creation
In his day Jesus of Nazareth would do likewise but, being a Jew, they would be celebrating the Passover. This 3300 year old miraculous intervention saved the Jewish people who had been slaves in Egypt for over 400 years. God heard their cry of anguish and hopelessness and enlisted a Jew called Moses to lead his nation out of slavery into the Promised Land of Israel
Miracle after miracle eventually persuaded Pharaoh to let them go but it cost the lives of every firstborn son in Egypt except the Jewish boys, hence the Passover. That all happened about 3300 years ago and yet the Jewish people still celebrate the victory of Passover
1300 years later God used another man to lead mankind out of slavery to sin and the corruption that was in the earth. This time the destination was the promised land of Heaven and peace with God in eternity. It too would cost the life of his own firstborn son
Heaven's darling Jesus laid aside his deity and, as a man, suffered death on a cruel Roman cross. The Father's original plan of salvation could now take effect. Jesus's death cancelled our sinful lives that we might come alive through his death. Yes He died but the record stands .. He died and came back to life – yippee
Jesus is my all-time hero
Today Jesus, Christ and OMG are words to swear and cuss with and the occult and spells are the new norm and perfectly acceptable in society
Our modern spiritual heroes practice the occult and dabble with dark acts
Even our children are introduced to the dark side of the spiritual realms with huge interest in spells and incantations. Through curses and spells followers of occultic literature can use the forces of darkness to bring about the will of its devoted readers without realizing its hellish consequences
Jesus said, "I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live"
2000 years later His invitation still stands: "Come unto me you who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest". He also said, "The words that I speak they are spirit and they are life". Let's learn from him
