Gorleston theatre hosts church carol outreach
Over 175 people took part in a carol service on Sunday 30 November at Gorleston Pavilion Theatre organised by Cliff Park Community Church.
The annual Carols and Coffee service marked the launch of the advent season for the church. The music was led singers from the church, accompanied by a nine-piece orchestra conducted by church member John Stephens. Gary Pillar gave a seasonal message.
The festive event began nearly 20 years ago, with the thought that some people from the community would be more comfortable going to a theatre at Christmas time rather than a church building. Since then, Cliff Park has held Christmas services at the Edwardian building almost every year, as well as at other times.
A retiring collection was taken, raising £212.18, which was split between the East Anglian Children’s Hospice and the Pavilion Theatre.
