Support for ex-cult members in Norfolk
A Norfolk-based support group for people who have been involved with cults now meets in the county once a month and is open to new visitors and supporters.
The Reachout Trust Norfolk Support Group meets in Norwich and Gorleston and is for those who were once involved with a cult, or have a heart for the lost, explained organiser Debbie Britton.
“Reachout Trust is also involved with Hope 08 and we are willing to help equip your Church fellowship to share in reaching out to those in your local community who may not be aware of the uniqueness of Christianity compared with other faiths-especially those who call at their door,” said Debbie.
“I have supported Reachout Trust since 1987 when a friend of mine was visited by Jehovah's Witnesses. Knowing I was a Christian, she asked me what the difference was. I didn't really know much about them and I prayed for Jesus to help me and He led me to a seminar held in Ipswich by Reachout Trust. ”Jesus has given me such a heart for those who are involved in the cults. Our meetings are open to all, especially those who have a heart for the lost and those who wish to support us in prayer, or find out the unique difference Christianity offers in comparison to all other religions and ways to build bridges toward them.” The meetings are held at the homes of group members in both Norwich and Gorleston.
The group also offers a day or evening teaching seminar on witnessing to those of other faiths (or a specific faith group), or they can show a video in a homegroup situation.
