Andy Peddle's passion for walking with a purpose

ANDY PEDDLEAndy Peddle is a member of The Salvation Army who has a passion for walking.  However, like all Salvationists, he also likes to put his faith and his beliefs into action. To raise awareness of Homelessness and Human Trafficking and also, all being well, £100,000; Andy decided he would visit every single Salvation Army Centre across the UK and Ireland by walking to them. His journey, which is around 7,900 miles started in the Outer Hebrides in May of 2012 and will last until October 2013 by which time Andy will have visited 949 centres. Not bad for a 70 year old!

You can monitor Andy's progress each week with online updates and of course if you wish to sponsor Andy to raise funds towards The Salvation Army’s work with those suffering from Homelessness and Human Trafficking, then you can do this via his just giving website: http://www.justgiving.com/Andy-Peddle

Lieutenant Rob Symons, of the Great Yarmouth Salvation Army says “we are hoping to make a very special occasion of Andy's visit. He will arrive at our Hall for around 11.30am where we will have a specially extended Herbie's and he will give a talk about his very special Walkathon. Andy will then visit our Charity Shop before carrying on his walk
You are most welcome if you wish to come and meet Andy and show your support. We are hoping there will be some media coverage on the day and so it will be a great opportunity to also promote the localised work of Herbie's and our partners too”
