Quite a buzz week at the Chapel Coffee House in Ormesby
22nd May 2017
The Chapel Coffee House in Ormesby St Margaret was transformed, last week, into a pop-up charity shop and café to raise funds for Christian Aid Week
Customers were able to browse through the wonderful array of donated goods, make their purchases and then enjoy delicious refreshments, all served by enthusiastic volunteers
In addition, on Monday evening, The Trinity Broads Singers gave a concert entitled “Music from around the world”, which was hugely enjoyed by the audience
Christian Aid Week this year is focusing on the plight of refugees worldwide so, on Wednesday evening, guests were able to eat a typical Syrian meal while learning more about this situation and hearing first-hand from a speaker who has lived, and still has family, in Syria
These different events, together with individual donations, have so far raised over £3,000. Ormesby Christian Aid organisers, Lesley Thomas and Helen Farman, would like to thank the many wonderful volunteers and everyone who contributed to making this week such a success and for helping to raise this amazing amount of money which Christian Aid will use to help refugees throughout the world
