A Tribute to Mothers
You nurtured me within your womb, then brought me forth into the world,
through infancy you guided me, and like a flower my life unfurled.
You turned this soft and helpless soul, into the strong successful me,
supporting everything I did, protecting angel at my knee.
In silence you are serving all, that loving smile upon your face,
and with such pride you watched me grow, as in this world I took my place.
A shoulder I could cry upon, your willing ear a child's best friend,
and still I listen to your words, my dearest mother to the end

I am a published author and have two books published so far. 'Words From The Honeycomb' (Spiritual verse) and 'Memories and Shadows' (assorted poetry).I am also a member of the poetry site allpoetry.com writing under the pseudonym of Moonbumps. I have been a steward at Hemsby Methodist Chapel since moving to Norfolk in 2011 and often arrange the Local Arrangements when we are without a preacher. Occasionally I read some of my poetry when it suits the service theme. I just thought you would like to know these things-I would like to send a poem into you one day if allowed
