From Rev Helen Lynch June 2020
Dear friends,
I hope this letter finds you well, and staying strong through whatever your circumstances look like at the moment. As we come into June I can’t quite workout where the year has gone - how can we be halfway through already? I don’t know about you, but time seems to be doing funny things. Some aspects have speeded up, and others have slowed right d o w n .....
June is the month of the summer solstice, when day and night are in balance, but so much feels unbalanced and out of kilter at the moment. Some things are on hold, waiting for it all to ‘blow over’, other things are having to happen in a much different way than we imagined - we have a sixteenth birthday in the house this month which will be not be quite the same as expected. There is that old saying that the best way to make God laugh is to say what your plans are. It’s very true that the best laid plans often end up somewhere unexpected, even when the world around us is a bit more normal
But, as the angel said, nothing is impossible with God. It can feel like God is very far away when we are struggling and need to know God’s love the most. As Christians, we can draw on our faith to strengthen us through trying times, and it’s important to keep in touch with it even in those times when we might feel like we’re praying into a void. God is there, believing in us and loving us, even when we’re struggling to believe in God
Micah 6:8 God has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
God be with you - God is with you!
